It is officially Fall and if you are anything like us, we are definitely excited for this fall weather. Fall is the time for pumpkin patches, apple picking, sunflower fields, hot apple side, pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween and more! With endless possibilities of things to do, I’m sure your weekends will be packed. But if there happens to be a rainy day in your future, here are our favorite things to do and still have fun on those less than perfect weather days.
Go To A Museum!
New York City is filled with some of the best Museums and Institutions in the country. On those rainy days, why not fill your days with beautiful art, history and more? We’ve attached a link with all of the information you need to fill that rainy day.
Go To A Movie!
No matter where you are in the city, there is always a nearby movie theater. This is the best time for movies, they always have their best movies out at this time because everyone loves them. Being in New York, we are lucky to have more options than others. Indie theaters like the Angelika Film Center and the Landmark Sunshine Cinema screen the kind of nonmainstream fare that you’d be unlikely to find in a typical movie theater. If you are looking for a more date atmosphere or just want to have real dinner rather than the standard movie theater food, you should try Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg. Waiters will serve you at tables propped up right in front of your plush theater seat. Finally, those fascinated by the history of film can hop the train to Astoria, Queens, home of the Museum of the Moving Image.
Visit Grand Central Terminal
As touristy as that sounds, Grand Central has some of the coolest features inside of it. Not to mention the amazing food court down below in the food carousel. Have you ever heard of the Whispering Gallery in Grand Central? This is one of the coolest architectural parts of Grand Central. This unmarked archway, located in front of the Oyster Bar & Restaurant, possesses a mystifying acoustic property: when two people stand at diagonal arches and whisper, they can hear each other’s voices “telegraphed” from across the way. And while you’re there, might as well stop by the Oyster Bar for a great meal!
Make A Spa Day!
Ladies and Gentlemen are always welcome. Find your favorite spot or look for a new one if you don’t have a favorite spa. You’ve definitely deserved it so why not treat yourself? Get the full work up or just a like bit of pampering. This you won’t regret!
Have A Much Needed Day Inside!
Sometimes these are the absolute best days. Stop by the grocery store and get all your favorite meals, treats, and snacks for yourself for the day. (Or order your favorite take out!) Have your favorite movie, games ready to go and have a wonderful day on your own, with your friends, or significant other. Treating yourself to a day in of relaxation and comfy clothes is something that can never be the wrong option.
